Feng Shui Wallet
Ever been told by your friends that there is a Feng Shui for your wallet? You will be surprised that this is indeed a very popular discussion topic. Well, is there a big impact? Certainly! We will discuss more about Feng Shui Wallet Tips and how they can improve the positive energy flow of your wallet. We will also mention the importance of having a clean wallet and answer some common questions on how a wallet can bring about good financial energy. Of course, more substantial financial energy will bring about stronger wealth luck and financial abundance! Read on for better financial prosperity!
Why Wallet?
That is an excellent question and a very intuitive answer. Wealth is one of the primary pursuits of Feng Shui. Do not get me wrong, but wealth in today's era is indeed a powerful tool. With buying power, there is a lot that one can do. 虽然钱不是万能、但是没有钱是万万不能。
The wallet is technically the place where one stores wealth and wealth-related items such as cash, coins, bank debit cards, and credit cards. Yes, you may argue that e-wallets are getting more popular, but I do not think cash will totally phase out, at least not that soon in Singapore's context. As a means of storing one's wealth, expenditure, and frequent cash movement, the wallet is therefore viewed as a key point of wealth source/wealth storage (财源、财库). In our daily life, the wallet is one of the essential items we utilise whenever there is a flow of money. Be it payment, storing your debit cards or credit cards, or other financial transactions. The positive energy in one's wallet is closely correlated to financial energy and prowess. The frequent movement of liquid cash through the wallet reinforces its flow of energy, particularly one's flow of wealth (usually energy is high in places with frequent movement). All these form the foundation of the Feng Shui in one's wallet and, of course, one's wealth luck.
Brand – 5 elements of your wallet's Feng Shui
Well, if you have a slight knowledge of 5 elements, this should be a breeze. If not, consider reading this article first; it will help your understanding here. Based on one's Bazi, you will require certain elements. Wallets do have elements, too. This is primarily based on its brand. Surprise? Gender
When establishing whether your wallet has good Feng Shui, the next step is to know its " gender." This Feng Shui concept for wallets is an interesting one and is how you can identify if your wallet is an Ah Boy or an Ah girl. There are two schools of thought about this. One believes in the concept of Yin and Yang, while the other believes that only one gender of the wallet has wealth-attraction capabilities.
First, let us explain how to identify the gender of your wallet. Simply start counting the compartments of your wallet. Make sure you did it thoroughly. A coin compartment is regarded as one. If your cash compartment has a divider between it, then that will be regarded as two compartments. Each card compartment is considered one. If the total number of compartments your wallet has is an odd number, it will be a male wallet, while an even-numbered wallet compartment will be a female wallet.
Yin and Yang method – Under this method, every year is split into Yin and Yang. For simplicity's sake, all even-numbered years are Yang while odd-number years are Yin (Eg. 2020 = Yang, 2021 = Yin, 2022 = Yang, 2023 = Yin). So, for Yang years, you will need a female wallet to attract wealth and vice versa.
The second method is that only female wallets attract wealth. The rationale? In ancient China, most commoners led very frugal lives. Although the husband is the breadwinner, it is believed that a good wife would be the one to rake up savings through wise spending (守财). So, start counting your wallet!
Feng Shui Wallet's Colour
The Feng Shui of your wallet is closely tied to having an auspicious colour. Colour, being an important aspect of determining the 5 elements, is also appropriately used. A Green LV wallet carries a great deal of wood elements (LV's first letter is L, and L means (乙), which means wood, and it is further enhanced by the color of Green). At the same time, a Green Chanel is likely to be a very strong fire element, considering that the wood produces fire. Chanel's first letter is C, and C means (丙), which means fire.
Black Wallet & Blue Wallet
Water is the Element for both colours. Black is one of the most common wallet colours, but do bear in mind that this colour will not suit all. A very general saying is that water represents wealth, and having a water-based wallet will attract wealth and prosperity. I think it would be more accurate to examine what elements each individual requires to boost their personal energy.
Red wallet, Purple wallet, Pink wallet
A very bold colour for a wallet, red represents the fire element, and those who require this can consider getting a red wallet.
White wallet, Gold wallet
Not exactly common wallet tones. These colours are closely associated with the metal element. If your Bazi requires the metal element, you may consider these colours to uplift your personal energy and boost your money luck. Do bear in mind that white wallets are hard to maintain.
Brown wallet, Yellow wallet
Brown is a rather good colour for an attractive wallet. Both these earthy colours belong to the earth element. Yellow is regarded as an earthy tone, but there is controversy about it being classified as an earth or metal element. (Dull or Matte Yellow is commonly viewed as an earth element, while Shiny Yellow is considered a metal element)
Green wallet

Another bold colour, as I am writing this article, I cannot recall anyone who uses a wallet of this colour. Green is quite an exotic selection, a favourable colour for those who require the wood element.
Items in your wallet
The items in your wallet can significantly affect Feng Shui, which is very accurate. A cluttered wallet with unnecessary items such as receipts, expired cards, or vouchers will affect financial energy. Isn't it intuitive that wealth will be attracted to an organized wallet? Keeping your wallet tidy and having a well-organized wallet is the first step to welcoming prosperous energy and wealth attraction. Similar to Residential Feng Shui and your living space, the environment for wealth, in this case the wallet, should be ideally a positive one. Here are other pointers that may improve your wallet's Feng Shui:
Avoid putting receipts in your wallet and having an overstuffed wallet. Keeping your wallet neat instead of messy is key to preventing stagnant or negative energy.
Avoid putting sharp objects in your wallet; keys are considered sharp and may also bring about negative energy.
If possible, a long wallet shape is preferred over a bi-fold wallet. Keeping your money neat and storing your currency notes flat instead of folding them is the more auspicious way to attract financial luck.
If you have a Feng Shui wallet amulet, house it in a new red packet. It is a common practice to have a Feng Shui wallet amulet, so try to keep it in a separate compartment.
If you have the habit of placing a red packet in your wallet, select one that has all 12 of the Zodiac. Carrying a 12-zodiac red packet in your wallet all the time promotes 相生相合. It encourages the presence of a nobleman for a smooth career. This year, Moon FengShui printed 12 zodiac red packets to be given to our valued customers!
12 Zodiac Angpow from Moon FengShui! Try to avoid placing other people's name cards. You probably do not know their financial situation or what kind of luck that person might bring to you.
Only put essential cards and try to have a clutter-free wallet.
Avoid having excessive cash or coins in your wallet. Such unnecessary clutter will not attract a positive flow of energy. Consider putting your excess coins in a separate coin pouch.
Condition of your wallet
Avoid using second-hand wallets, damaged wallets, or old, worn-out wallets. On top of maintaining a tidy wallet, the condition of your wallet is critical. Buying a second-hand wallet is not encouraged as you would not know its previous energies and whether its previous owners were met with financial struggle. I am sure you would not wish to be inheriting any bad luck. Then again, if you know the source of the wallet is someone with a financial fortune, you can obviously tap into the flow of prosperity! As much as getting a new, high-quality wallet is preferred, one may consider to 消磁 your second-hand wallet if it is unavoidable. That will solve the problem of obtaining a second-hand wallet.
Damaged wallet, jumbled wallet, or old, worn-out wallets should be avoided as it will affect your personal energy. Stagnant energy may occur in less severe cases. If there are holes or the wallet is in bad condition, there may be concerns about financial instability and a reduced inflow of wealth.
Do I need to change my wallet yearly to have a brand new one each year? As long as it is in good condition, you do not have to change it yearly unless you believe in the Yin and Yang methods described above. Alternatively, you may rotate them based on Yin or Yang year.
Conclusion
Both a wealth symbol and a status symbol, a wallet is closely associated with financial energy and prosperity. In the pursuit of financial abundance, it is therefore important to visit such symbols of wealth. From wallet colour to keeping your wallet clean, wallet wealth energy is critical to promoting harmonious energy flow.
Everyone is attracted to living in a prosperous, luxurious, clean environment. We believe that the energy (Qi) also acts in the same way. Whether is it residential Feng Shui, Commercial Feng Shui or in this case Wallet Feng Shui, the same principle applies.
Since wallet Feng Shui is not commercialized, I think we should err on the safe side and do some periodic housekeeping of our wallets to ensure that they are clean and neat. Whether we get a lucky colour or a good brand, it will all boil down to personal preference.
Feng Shui Wallet over Financial Literacy?
Will having an auspicious wallet propel you to achieve your financial goals instantly? No, do not misunderstand this article. If you are swiping credit cards like no tomorrow, practicing bad financial management, or having bad financial habits, then no amount of Feng Shui will be able to help.
Good financial well-being starts with a positive mindset and good saving habits. Wallet Feng Shui is a small segment that creates a positive environment. It is more important to be financially savvy in money management and plan well for your financial goals and aspirations. Feng Shui is a complementary practice that enhances one's financial circumstances and attracts auspicious wealth and luck.
As we approach the Chinese New Year, start ridding your wallet of unnecessary items and keeping it clean. We hope the energy of abundance surrounds you, and may you realise your financial dreams in the year ahead!
