FAQs
Fengshui is a principle founded upon the studies of energy flow with regards to individuals and their environment. Through different methodologies to observe and effect the flow of energy, one will be able to alter the placement and arrangement of objects, thus achieving and improving the general flow of energy.
While it originated in ancient China with history dating back more than 3500 years ago, Feng Shui has gained popularity worldwide as a holistic approach to creating balanced and harmonious living and working spaces. In Singapore, the study and practice of FengShui had grown steadily and is widely applied to residential, commercial and even architectural planning of estates.
We hope to introduce and share FengShui to a wider group of people so that everyone can tap and leverage on the benefit of FengShui to improve one's health, wealth and general well-being.
The practice of FengShui seeks to create a harmonious environment by optimizing the flow of energy. We hope that through this optimization, it will help you achieve vitality and improved health, greater prosperity, enhanced relationship, career or academic excellence.
No, FengShui is not associated with any religion. Although some common FengShui items may be associated to certain specific religion, these items can be substituted by non-religion ornaments such as paintings, crystals, plants etc.
We hope through the practice of FengShui, it will be able to reduce the severity of the issues and perhaps present you with more opportunities to resolve/improve your current situation. However, it will still boils down to one's destiny, determination, spirit and decision to overcome life's challenges.
For most birth dates, a person's zodiac can be easily determined simply by referring to the year in which they are born. However, there are some dates (usually before or after 正月初一 of the lunisolar calender aka the chinese lunar calendar) which will require careful inspection. Depending on the different school of thoughts by various master and practitioners, one may be classified as a monkey or a goat (example) depending on the type of calendar used. At Moon Fengshui, we recognize that the two different types of reference point (Lunar Calendar or Solar Calendar) will yield different results and may drastically affect a person's birth chart. After careful consideration of both methodologies' advantages and flaws, we have decided to use the lunar calendar as our point of reference. Notwithstanding very specific or unique cases, we will then take into consideration the usage of the solar calendar in our analysis.
Well, this indeed is a tricky issue. In ancient times, it is said that there are 12 时辰 in a day represented by the 12 zodiac animals. Each 时辰 in today's context will be a duration of 2 hours. A new day begins with 子时 (2300H in today's context) while it will end in 亥时 (2259H). The concept of 12时辰 should not be confused by our measurement of 24 hours in a day. It seems peculiar to divide 子时 into two parts (0000 to 0059 in the early morning and 2300 to 2359 in the night) simply because of the introduction of a 24 hour day system in modern day practice. Hence, after careful consideration and close reference to historical records, we will generally classify babies born after 2300H as someone born on the next day (as per today's concept of time). Nevertheless, we recognise the different school of thoughts and respect the different practices of each Master.
